Lucy Gibbons
Student Journalist
I am a History and Hispanic Studies student at the University of Warwick, as well as an aspiring journalist. During my time at university, I have become heavily involved in student media.
During my first year at university, I was Deputy Editor of the music section for The Boar, the University of Warwick's student newspaper. In March 2024, I was elected as Music Editor, a position that I held until March 2025.
During my tenure as Music Editor, I pitched and edited articles weekly, and also promoted them on our social media with eye-catching posts that I created using Canva.
From July to September 2025, I embarked on an internship with La Vida Liverpool, a Liverpool-based PR and marketing magazine which promotes local businesses and brands. Throughout the internship, I wrote a variety of articles, mainly surrounding the arts and culture scene in Liverpool.
I was also featured on La Vida Liverpool's radio show. Each week, I would interview a variety of guests, ranging from authors to the Lord Mayor of Liverpool.
My most recent project is 'Hogging the Mic', a podcast set up through The Boar with a couple of fellow student journalists. Each episode, we interview a Boar alumnus who has gone on to have a career in journalism. Additionally, in my role as culture host, I discuss the most recent news in the arts and culture world.
